Creating Magic Moments with your Child
‘Building Jewish confidence for children aged 5-10 and parents together’
2nd Sunday of the Month, 11:00-12:30 at EHRS

Judaism is beautiful when lived l’dor vador, (from generation to generation). Do you want your child to experience the best of Judaism and inspire a love that could last a life time? Come to EHRS’s brand new monthly parent and child together programme to celebrate important aspects of Jewish culture, tradition and values and meet other families from your community in an environment that is fun and meaningful for parents and children.

This programme is for families with primary school aged children (5-10) who attend Jewish day schools or mainstream schools of any type. Everyone welcome whatever your knowledge, background or family make-up.
There is no charge and you can come to any one or all sessions as you choose.

13 October - Magic of Sukkot. Helping to build and create the community sukkah. Our first session uses all of your senses and skills to help make the EHRS Sukkah beautiful. Wave the Lulav, make the decorations, hear the story and create the beautiful fruit and vegetation filled shelter that has accompanied the Jewish people at this season for 3000 years. This magic led by Rabbi Mark.

10 November - Magic of Shabbat at home. As we get closer to December, the non-Jewish world begins to prepare for Christmas. As the decorations, music, and holiday foods begin to take centre stage in the public spaces, families can use Shabbat to reaffirm their commitment to Judaism in an increasingly consumer-oriented world. Using storytelling, art, song and strong sensory experiences, this session will help you bring something new to your family whether you have a Shabbat routine already or if you’re looking for a way to get started. This magic led by Rabbi Emily.

8 December - Magic of growing up Jewish. Jewish life develops and grows from the moment of birth to our last breaths (and according to our tradition beyond as well!). This morning play the great game of Jewish life together as we trace two people throughout their life from birth to b’nei Mitzvah through Chuppah and forever. Includes an expert workshop on Jewish parenting while your children are playing the game. This magic led by Rabbi Mark.
