Our Synagogue services cater for all ages and styles. There is a wide range of alternative and focussed services, depending on members’ interests and the needs of different age groups. We are always happy to consider new ideas to attract different groups, and members are encouraged to participate in all aspects of services
Friday evening: All year round at 6.30 pm family services on the first Friday of each month. These are often accompanied by our Youth Choir and always followed by a Kiddush.
Shabbat morning: Every Shabbat morning at 10.30 am, followed by a Kiddush. Services are led by our rabbis and lay members and accompanied by our Choir.
Shabbat Tots: for children up to 5 years old and their parents held on first and third Shabbat of each month from 9.45 – 10.15 am and on festivals. Once a term we hold a breakfast for this age group prior to the service which offers a friendly opportunity for families to socialise.
Shabbat Shirah: Running the third Saturday of every month at 10.30am. Fancy a fun, lively and extra-musical Shabbat morning experience? Come join us in the Beit Hamidrash for Shabbat Shirah! Led by Rabbi Emily Jurman, you’ll learn new songs for the Service, have an opportunity to practise your Service-taking skills, play drums and participate in a discussion on the portion of the week!
Family Service: specifically aimed at young people aged 6 – 10 and their families, held every Shabbat at 10.30 am. Young people are encouraged to participate and develop their service skills.
Torah Breakfast: Our once a month Torah Breakfast on the second Shabbat of every month is especially for Bar/Bat Mitzvah families, it offers a relaxed and informal environment in which to munch bagels and to learn in a family-friendly way with one of our rabbis.
Sunday Morning service: A short (20 minute) weekday Shacharit Service is at 9.30am preceded by refreshments. Those saying Kaddish are especially invited.
